To set up the WooCommerce Table Rate Shipping method, you first need to set up a shipping zone, then add the method to the shipping zone, and lastly, configure the method. You can create as many shipping zones as you want, and add multiple methods to each zone.
A Shipping Zone is a geographical area to which items can be shipped to. Shipping zones can be as specific as need be, right down to regions and zip codes, or as generic as possible.
It is important to note that customers can only see methods that are available for their address and the corresponding shipping zone. A customer may qualify for only one shipping zone.
Adding a new zone
1. Go to: WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping > Shipping Zones. If you don’t see Shipping as an option, go back to WooCommerce > General and take a look at the Shipping Location(s) settings, Shipping & Shipping Calculation may have been disabled there.
2. Select Add shipping zone at the top.
3. Enter a Zone Name, you can also select Zone Regions that apply to your scenario. Regions can consist of Countries, States, and Continents. then click Limit to specific zip/postcodes (if applicable) to further narrow which customers match this zone.
4. Click the Add shipping method button, and a popup dialogue box will open, then select Table Rate Shipping from the select box and click Add shipping method button again to add it to the shipping zone. Once the shipping method has been added to the zone, you can now configure it.
5. To set up the newly added shipping method, click the title of the shipping method or the Edit link below the title, this brings you to the settings page of the method.
